1. Go sit with a tree…Most of us have access to a tree within a relatively close distance. If possible, remove your shoes, and walk outside to a tree of your choice and just sit down against it. Feel the sensations in the soles of your feet through the elements of the earth and the trunk of the tree against your back. Think about your breath. You are breathing in the oxygen provided by this incredible living tree. Every time you breath out take a moment to thank the tree and send your exhaled carbon dioxide back to the tree. Take a few moments of meditation to partake of this beautiful exchange.
2. Tummy Time…even if you can’t go outside you can take a moment to bring yourself to the earth. Lay on the carpet, rug, yoga mat or whatever is available on your stomach and embrace the significance of such a large area of your body in connection with the ground beneath you. Notice the energy coming from the earth into your body. Soak up all that the earth has to offer to fill your empty spaces and send back to the earth all that you are holding onto that is unnecessary. The earth will gladly soak it up for you.
3. Oh Glorious Water!...Take a minute to pour yourself a glass of fresh water. If possible, add a special element such as a squirt of lemon or a dash of apple cider vinegar. Make sure you take just a couple minutes from your busy life to sit down and sip your water. Water is such an important part of your existence, seeing as more than half your body is water! Thank the universe for this water you have before you. The water you put into your body on a daily basis is so essential to the function and health of every cell of your being. With every sip you take ponder on the life-giving flow entering your body that influences every part of your being. With every sip, health and life are being activated within you.
Each of us has the power to reconnect with the natural resources around ourselves. Sometimes it is as simple stepping outside, touching the ground or a drink. If you can take a moment from the busyness around you and set a positive intention, each of these simple tasks will have a great positive effect on you, especially if done on a regular basis. Remember, every moment counts in life, so take one for YOU!
